Recycled iron and copper from home appliances will be reused in Panasonic Group products
OSAKA, Japan, September 4, 2025 — Panasonic Holdings Corporation (“Panasonic HD”) announced that “The Land of NOMO,” the Panasonic Group Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (“Expo 2025”), will achieve a recycling and reuse rate of more than 99%*1 and a waste disposal rate of less than 1% for all building materials used in the pavilion’s construction. After the expo concludes, Panasonic HD will comprehensively reuse and recycle materials such as iron, copper, the facade frames*2 and exterior paving blocks, significantly minimizing waste and demonstrating its commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
The Panasonic Group Pavilion, “The Land of NOMO”, champions the long-term environmental vision of “Panasonic GREEN IMPACT.” Constructed around the core theme of “Circulation,” “The Land of NOMO” has been designed as a resource-circular pavilion from its planning stage. By successfully achieving a recycling and reuse rate of over 99% for building materials, Panasonic HD proudly contributes to the 98.1% recycling rate target set by the Japan Association for Expo 2025.
Panasonic Group remains committed to the advancement of a wide array of initiatives that address global environmental challenges and contribute to a sustainable future.

Additionally, approximately 180 pieces of equipment and building materials across 30 categories used in “The Land of NOMO,” including lighting, speakers, wooden decks, and security cameras, will be reused in Obayashi Corporation's Open Lab 3 phase II building.
Facade and lighting equipment
The facade, along with 40 lighting fixtures and 12 speakers used for illumination effects will be reused at Toho-Leo Co.'s studio (Provisional name) in the “Urban GX Village” area of the International Horticultural Expo 2027 (GREEN×EXPO 2027), through collaboration with Toho-Leo Co. and Yuko Nagayama & Associates.
The organdy*3 featured in the facade will be used as fashion materials for the annual fashion event “156th Ueda Gakuen Collection 2026” scheduled for January, a fashion event held annually by Ueda Yasuko College of Fashion, a co-creation partner of “The Land of NOMO.”

Exhibition Elements
Portions of the biosensory dome exhibited in the “Earth” area will be relocated to the Panasonic HD's technology division’s “West Kadoma New Building” that is scheduled for completion in fiscal 2026 (ending March 31, 2026). These elements will be used for visitor exhibitions. Reuse destinations for other exhibits are being considered.
