Stronger relationships of trust with stakeholders
Yokohama, Japan, August 29, 2025 – Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan; President: Masashi Nagayasu) announced today the publication of its Sustainability Data Book, which is now available on the company’s official website. This is the first time the company has published a Sustainability Data Book, which aims to build stronger relationships of trust with all stakeholders, including customers (car manufacturers), suppliers, and employees.
The company’s mission is to “create a sustainable mobility society to promote a better life for everyone.” The sustainable mobility society that PAS strives to create is an ideal society that can be realized by solving social issues associated with transportation, including environmental issues due to vehicle emissions, traffic congestion in urban areas, the elimination of traffic accidents, and the need for safe and secure traveling spaces as revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the responsibility of every company to adopt sustainable business practices that will make a difference in solving global environmental issues, and PAS is committed to fulfilling that responsibility.
PAS operates in the automotive industry, which is under increasing pressure to address environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues due to its significant impact on the environment. In addition to environmental initiatives, addressing social responsibility issues is equally important. This includes respecting human rights, improving working conditions, ethical sourcing of mineral resources, coexisting with local communities, and enhancing safety across the supply chain. In terms of governance, PAS must establish systems and mechanisms that enable the implementation of these initiatives across the group and its supply chain, as well as strengthen risk management. ESG initiatives in the automotive industry have become a pressing priority—one that will determine a company’s sustainability and competitiveness.
With this in mind, PAS published its first Sustainability Data Book 2025, which systematically presents and discloses its approach to sustainability and its ESG initiatives for the fiscal year ending March 2024. Previously, the company’s activities were disclosed in the reports of Panasonic Holdings Corporation as part of the Panasonic Group. However, following its transition to a new management structure under a strategic partnership with Apollo in December 2024, the company will begin issuing independent reports starting this fiscal year. By publishing the Sustainability Data Book, the company seeks to engage in more meaningful conversations with all stakeholders—including customers (car manufacturers), suppliers, and employees—and accelerate efforts toward creating a sustainable mobility society.
