Panasonic Wins "Best 100" for Two Products in "2019 Good Design Award"

Tokyo, Japan - Panasonic Corporation announced that two of its products were selected for the Good Design Best 100 at the Good Design Award 2019 held by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion on October 2, 2019. The products were the Technics SL-1200MK7 Direct Drive Turntable System, and the CS-Z35UFEAW/409CY2 series Floor Console Air Conditioner.

The award-winning products will be on display at the Good Design Exhibition 2019, an exhibition of winning products from the Good Design Award 2019, from October 31 to November 4, 2019, at Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi, Tokyo). (The exhibits can be viewed at various places in Tokyo Midtown.)

Technics SL-1200MK7 is the long-awaited update of the iconic DJ turntable for the first time in more than a decade. Overall, the new design represents one of the best practices for managing product updates. With every aspect has been modified and updated, from the new motor technology through to the composite materials to construct the sleek black chassis itself, it sets the benchmark for a design package of solid build quality and reliability. What more there to say is that it's the definitive DJ turntable back to the market priced reasonably, thanks to the retooling and redesigning rooted to the legacy.

Floor Console Air Conditioner CS-Z35UFEAW Series (EU) / 409CY2 (Japan) Series

The floor console CS-Z35UFEAW/409CY2 embodies the spirit of design sincerely squaring with western consumers' replacement demand for air conditioning systems. The housing design of this conditioner delivers a sophisticated appearance like built-in furniture, that can be a member of aesthetically pleasing interior components. The design of genuine elegance has eliminated the feeling of the eyesore, commonly seen in home appliances made up of injection-molded plastic parts. To every detail, it realizes the concept of simplicity. No mechanical looking opening is there. The outer parts, from the double front flap to bottom/side air inlets, are all neatly fitted into clearances between face materials. The level of design integrity in the home-use appliance to create a new trend has been the decisive element for the award.
