Yokohama, Japan, December 24, 2025 – Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan; President: Masashi Nagayasu) today announced that it has achieved the Bronze Medal in the sustainability assessment conducted by EcoVadis (Headquarters: France), an international organization that evaluates corporate sustainability. EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability performance of more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries. Assessments cover four categories—Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement—and are scored out of 100 points based on 21 indicators established under these themes. This time, Panasonic Automotive Systems received the Bronze Medal, which is awarded to companies ranked within the top 35% overall.

The company’s mission is to “create a sustainable mobility society to promote a better life for everyone.” Also, it operates in the automotive industry, which is under increasing pressure to address environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues due to its significant impact on the environment. In addition to environmental initiatives, addressing social responsibility issues is equally important. This includes respecting human rights, improving working conditions, ethical sourcing of mineral resources, coexisting with local communities, and enhancing safety across the supply chain. In terms of governance, the company must establish systems and mechanisms that enable the implementation of these initiatives across the Group and its supply chain, as well as strengthen risk management. ESG initiatives in the automotive industry have become a pressing priority—one that will determine a company’s sustainability and competitiveness.

In this assessment, the company’s efforts in the “Sustainable Procurement” category, which is one of the key evaluation criteria, were highly recognized. Specifically, it was evaluated for promoting responsible procurement across the entire supply chain, including conflict mineral management and due diligence using the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), and for systematically managing environmental and social considerations. Overall, its policies, initiatives, and support for international standards were assessed as being extremely strong. In particular, its efforts in the areas of “Environment,” “Labor & Human Rights,” and “Sustainable Procurement” were acknowledged as demonstrating a high level of execution and due diligence. Being recognized against international standards marks a significant step toward achieving its mission.

The company will continue working to further strengthen its sustainability initiatives toward the realization of a sustainable mobility society.
