Panasonic Kicks Off Football Clinic to Nurture the Next Generation

Yangon, Myanmar - In collaboration with the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF), Panasonic sponsored Gamba Osaka Football Club held for the first time a football clinic at the Thuwanna Stadium in Yangon. Aimed at developing the skills of young footballers to create the next generation of Myanmar star athletes, MFF and Panasonic also hopes that the football clinic will inspire Myanmar's youths to build a better life and a better world by keeping an active lifestyle, engaging with their peers and adults and participating in their community.

The football clinic saw three coaches from the leading Japanese football club Gamba Osaka engage with 100 youths and 50 coaches from Yangon and MFF players. The collaboration initiated from an earlier meeting between Mr. Kazuhiro Tsuga, President of Panasonic Corporation and Mr. Zaw Zaw, President of MFF, when the former visited the country and is endorsed as one of the events celebrating 60 years of diplomatic friendship between Myanmar and Japan.

Other than supporting football development in Myanmar, Panasonic also sponsored the 2013 Southeast Asian Games that was held in Myanmar capital, Naypyidaw and has been a global Olympic Games sponsor for more than two decades, demonstrating the company's commitment of contributing to society's progress through sports.

A series of events in collaboration with GAMBA Osaka have also been held in Indonesia. This year a youth selection initiative was held in January, a friendly match with the GAMBA Osaka Academy in August and recently a football clinic for 80 children was held in October.
