Panasonic Showcases New Video Technologies and Industry Solutions at InfoComm 2017
Panasonic Media Entertainment Company highlights ongoing projects with solutions backed by industry-leading display and projection technology products.
ORLANDO, FL, U.S. - June 15, 2017 - Panasonic, a leader in developing and delivering immersive entertainment and audio visual technologies, showcases its expanding line of leading video technology products and solutions for customers ranging from higher education to theme parks at InfoComm 2017 in Orlando, Florida from June 14-16, 2017.
Panasonic Media Entertainment Company is exhibiting a full roster of high-performance video, display and projection products to serve all its industry customers. The company's mission is to provide innovative solutions to four major business areas: entertainment, integrated resorts, sports, and professional AV markets including house of worship, education, broadcast, and retail; and to develop technology solutions that can help customers enhance the guest and visitor experience at mass-audience venues.
In January at CES, Panasonic and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts announced that Panasonic Projection Imaging Systems would be the "Official Projection Technology" of Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Panasonic projectors have been installed in the newly opened Na'vi River Journey at Walt Disney World Resort's newest and most immersive land, Pandora - The World of Avatar, at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
"Panasonic is pleased that its technology vision supports the creativity and innovation of the Disney theme parks in the U.S.," said Panasonic Corporation's Connected Solutions Company Vice President Masaki Arizono. "Expanding our business solutions to fit the theme park and entertainment space is very exciting for Panasonic. It is our mission to become a technology leader for customers in this industry, and at the same time, enhance the technologies in areas where we already have strong relationships."
Panasonic is also a proud strategic partner with MGM Resorts International, a co-collaborator in bringing the next generation of hospitality solutions to multiple parts of their business. The MGM alliance, started in August 2015, encompasses sustainability, security, IT, and visual experience solutions at a number of MGM integrated resorts.
In addition to new projector and display products, Panasonic will also highlight new technologies at the booth.
TECHNOLOGIES ON DISPLAY
The ballooncam which combines a drone with the hovering capability of a large balloon for a unique video platform. With unique shooting angles the ballooncam can be used to enhance the fan experience at sporting and other stadium events.
Panasonic's LinkRay is a proprietary visible light communication technology, which enables smartphones with a dedicated app to access information emitted in signals from LED transmitters. Information can be downloaded and displayed in the user's native language, augmenting visitor experiences in spaces such as theme parks, museums and galleries, as well as retail environments. The first U.S.-based museum installation can be seen at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, CA.
High Speed Real-Time Tracking and Projection Mapping System
The high speed Real-Time Tracking and Projection Mapping system will enable high resolution (1920 x 1080) images at 10,000 lumens ANSI brightness to be mapped onto fast-moving objects, such as performers on stage, with masking and trimming applied over video and fed to the projector in real time. The technology dovetails with high-brightness Panasonic's 3-Chip DLP(TM) SOLID SHINE laser projectors adapted to rental and staging applications.
NEW PROJECTORS AND DISPLAYS
The new TH-75BQE1 75-inch 4K UHD Direct-LED display interfaces with free downloadable Panasonic Whiteboard Software, which dovetails with touch-panel operation and allows users to easily draw on screen. PowerPoint(R) Link Mode enables import, modification, and resaving of PowerPoint(R) files, for professional presentations. Video-capture and screen-capture functions are useful for recording, and pages can be saved for distribution. With up to 10-point touch, the panel enables natural notation. A simple USB memory viewer decodes media on USB sticks, front-facing speakers deliver clear classroom audio, and a wide screen in 4K resolution presents bright, clear pictures. The TH-75BQE1 is also perfect for interactive signage applications.
SF2 Series and SF2H Series Professional Displays
The SF2 Series also inspired the SF2H Series, with larger 70- and 80-inch panel sizes and higher brightness. All Full-HD displays feature IPS panels, E-LED backlighting, image enhancement, and various picture modes. Designed for 24/7 use, the SF2 Series ships in 43- to 65-inch sizes with 450 cd/m2 brightness, while SF2H Series sets have 700 cd/m2 and the new LinkRay(TM). All enable single or multi-screen installation, and house a USB Media Player. USB memory data is updatable via LAN, while playback schedules can be automated using free Content Manager Software. For public and retail spaces, a custom image can be displayed on startup. They also switch to a backup input if the primary signal is lost, and switch back when it is restored. To expedite multi-display installation, menu settings and picture configuration data from a master display can be copied via USB memory or LAN. Sequential IP address data can be copied to multiple displays via USB memory to save time and expense. The SF2 Series is planned for release in August 2017, and the SF2H Series will be released in December 2017.
A game-changing addition to the SOLID SHINE Laser projector lineup, the PT-RZ21K Series delivers 20,000 lumens and 20,000:1 contrast in WUXGA (PT-RZ21KU) or SXGA+ (PT-RS20KU) resolution. The latest 3-Chip DLP(TM) technology and image processing engines assure class-leading color performance, white balance accuracy, motion handling and more. A cooling system and filter-free design for continuous operation make the PT-RZ21K Series ideal for large venues. The compact size also makes it easy to handle. Together with powered lens shift and optional lenses, it can be mounted in any configuration (360-degree) without picture distortion temporarily or in permanent applications. Single LAN cable DIGITAL LINK connectivity simplifies installation, reduces cabling and associated costs, and enhances reliability. Built-in Geometric Adjustment supports a wide range of mapping functions via dedicated software, such as multi-screen set-up. With the optional ET-CUK10 Automatic Screen Adjustment upgrade kit and multi-screen calibration via camera, complexity is greatly reduced during set-up. The PT-RZ21K Series will be available in November 2017.
The ET-D75LE70 lens enables WQXGA (4K+) fisheye projection of high-resolution images from Panasonic 3-Chip DLP(TM) projectors with a maximum 183-degree viewing angle supporting lens shift without pixel distortion. The lens opens exciting possibilities for permanent projection applications in planetariums, museums, VR theaters, theme parks, and special events. A major advantage is the ability to present high-resolution images using a single projector. The ET-D75LE70 also supports vertical lens-shift to a maximum ±37% (WQXGA) and Image Field Distortion correction. Initially offered for large-venue SOLID SHINE Laser 3-Chip DLP(TM) models, the ET-D75LE70 is expected to ship in January 2018.
Note: All Panasonic 3-Chip DLP(TM) models supporting this lens are currently in production, and comprise PT-RQ32KU, PT-RZ31KU, PT-RS30KU, PT-RQ13KU, PT-RZ12KU, PT-RS11KU, PT-DZ21K2U, PT-DS20K2U, PT-DW17K2U, PT-DZ16K2U, PT-DZ13KU, PT-DS12KU, PT-DW11KU, and PT-DZ10KU.
