Osaka, Japan, October 30, 2025 – Panasonic Group has played a key role in realizing a comfortable, safe and sustainable Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (“Expo 2025”) through its products, solutions and AI technologies, including lighting, commercial air conditioning equipment and facial authentication systems deployed at the Grand Ring, supply and treatment facilities (Southeast and Northeast) that serve as the core of the venue’s cooling infrastructure, staff gates and other key locations.

Additionally, Panasonic Group supported the overall visitor experience and spatial appeal of the Expo venue by contributing to the lighting displays that illuminated Expo 2025’s iconic Grand Ring as well as the individual pavilions throughout the site.

Panasonic Group will leverage the knowledge gained through its initiatives at Expo 2025 to advance its products and solutions that contribute to solving social issues, as well as technologies that create memorable experiences, thereby contributing to the realization of a better future.

Grand Ring Lighting

Panasonic Group installed approximately 1,600 full-color spotlights on the Grand Ring’s rooftop Sky Walk, and 2,400 spotlights on the ground floor’s Ground Walk. Additionally, approximately 700 compact floodlights were installed to illuminate the inner and outer edges of the Grand Ring, creating one of Expo 2025’s iconic symbols: a nighttime display in which the structure appears to float against the night sky. Full-color spotlights have been installed at 1.2-meter intervals along the entire two-kilometer circumference of the rooftop Sky Walk, controlled by the urban lighting cloud system "YOI-en," creating a dynamic atmosphere that evolves with the time of day and seasons.

Panasonic Group’s environmentally friendly “absorption chillers (Natural Chiller),” which do not use specific CFCs or CFC substitutes and instead use water as a natural refrigerant, were installed at the supply and treatment facilities that served as the core of the venue’s cooling infrastructure, supplying chilled water to key facilities such as the EXPO Hall and the EXPO Messe.
