Panasonic Wins IAUD Award 2017 Grand Award

Hannover, Germany - On March 9, 2018 in Germany, the winners of the IAUD Award 2017 organized by the General Incorporated Foundation International Association for Universal Design were announced, and Panasonic Corporation's "Communication of Panasonic Universal Design" won the Grand Award.
Panasonic won a total of 8 awards this year, including Gold Awards for the "Rechargeable Receiver-In-Canal Hearing Aid WH-R47, 45, 43," "High Definition Wide Display System for Automobile," and the "Let's Remo-con AD, ST PN-L90102, 90101," the Silver Awards for the "Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner MC-JP800G, SJP800G," "Robot Vacuum Cleaner MC-RS800," and the "Bone Conduction Head Set HS-CSH01G," and 1 IAUD Award.

Design Strategy Division, Section Chief, Yoko Nakao's comment after receiving the Grand Award for "Communication of Panasonic Universal Design":

"Since 2006, we have continued to make improvements to our UD brochures and UD website in order to communicate the thinking behind our UD and our products to as many people as possible. With the power of UD, Panasonic will continue to address the social challenges Japan and the rest of the world is facing and help realize a society that takes into account various social issues such as aging society, declining birthrate, globalization, and diversification."

About the IAUD Award

The guiding principle of the General Incorporated Foundation International Association for Universal Design is "to contribute to the healthy development of society and improve the welfare of humanity as a whole, through future disseminating and actualizing of Universal Design (UD)." As part of these efforts, IAUD has been organizing the "IAUD Award" since 2010 to recognize groups and individuals who have conducted or proposed particularly noteworthy activities aimed at realizing a UD society in which everyone, regardless of age, gender, nationality, ethnicity, culture, customs, or other factors, can live comfortably, without feeling any undue inconvenience.
