March 9, 2016 - Panasonic broadcast the total solar eclipse as seen from Ternate, Indonesia and fans all over the world could experience the eclipse in real time.
The ECLIPSE LIVE page features highlights from the event as well as the entire, uncut broadcast, so it is not surprising this page was Panasonic Newsroom's most popular page of 2016! The live online broadcast during the eclipse was made possible through solar power generated by Panasonic's Power Supply Container, which supplies electricity in off-grid areas to support a better life for those in need.
February 3, 2016 - Panasonic's industry-first Simultaneous-Capture Wide-Dynamic-Range Technology enables the accurate imaging and reproduction of richer color tone, and can prevent overexposure in bright situations while also delivering clear images in dark conditions. This technology can be applied to a large range of imaging devices where high-precision is key, such as in surveillance or broadcasting cameras.
October 4-7, 2016 - At CEATEC JAPAN 2016, Panasonic presented the company's latest technologies under the theme of the "Transformation IoT brings to Lifestyles and Business." February 3, 2016 - Panasonic announced the development of a highly functional global shutter technology that contributes to the high speed sensing of moving objects without resulting in the image distortion often seen with conventional shutter operations. In addition, Panasonic's "variable sensitivity multiple exposure technology" enables the sensing of moving objects' direction with different exposure sensitivity in one picture.
September 29, 2016 - A hit with various media, Panasonic's Flexible Lithium-ion Battery needs to be seen to be believed. With a thickness of only 0.55mm, the rechargeable battery can retain its properties even after being bent or twisted repeatedly. This flexible battery could be used in card devices or wearable technology. The battery, along with various other automotive and industrial devices and innovations, was on display at electronica 2016.
November 28, 2016 - This new IPS Liquid Crystal Panel is 600 times the contrast ratio of traditional liquid crystal panels, at 1,000,000:1. The resulting high-grade video display allows for jet-black darkness and faithful imaging without black floating, an issue in conventional liquid crystal panels. These new IPS Liquid Crystal Panels can be used in broadcasting or medical displays where high contrast is essential.
January 6-9, 2016 - CES comes every year in January. Held in Las Vegas, USA, it is one of the largest consumer electronics shows of the year where Panasonic shows off the latest in technology and solutions. August 9, 2016 - Panasonic Corporation acquired the German company OpenSynergy, a high-tech company specializing in embedded software for automotive cockpit solutions, as a subsidiary on July 22, 2016. With OpenSynergy as a subsidiary, Panasonic is looking toward the development of next-generation integrated cockpit systems. In October, Panasonic showcased ideas for future society and Intelligent Transport Systems at the ITS World Congress Melbourne 2016.
