Cologne, Germany - Panasonic Eco Solutions Company became the first company from the Panasonic Group to take part in "interzum 2015," world's leading exhibition for the furniture industry held from May 5 (Tue) to 8 (Fri), 2015 in Cologne, Germany. Under the concept, "SUMAU aus Japan - Housing ideas from Japan" the company introduced the innovative functions and technologies of its housing equipment and building materials honed in Japan. During the exhibition, approximately 300 companies visited the Panasonic's booth, and its kitchen, functional shoe storage, and the mechanisms and parts of its sliding door drew much attention.
"interzum," is the world's leading bi-annual exhibition for the furniture industry, which began in 1959 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2009. This year the exhibition welcomed 1,561 exhibitors from 57 countries and 57,500 buyers, architects, office installation suppliers, interior designers, etc. from 143 countries around the world.
In the booth, Panasonic showcased functions and technologies from 5 different concepts - "smart storage," "universal design," "easy to clean," "eco-friendly" and "industrialization correspondence." In Europe, people primarily renovate homes rather than build anew so they face unique inconveniences. That is why Panasonic introduced ideas and technologies born in Japan that will help address these issues.
What especially drew attention in the booth was the hanging cupboard used in system kitchens in Japan, the Soft Down Wall Unit. You can pull these units down with little force without using a stepladder. This time, these units have been introduced using projection mapping as storage solutions not only for the kitchen, but also for the garage, cafes, and offices.
Panasonic hopes to continue to offer innovative functions and technologies that help address the issues customers in Europe experience and to expand its housing business in Europe. Please look forward to more from Panasonic.
