Shaping Forever Use: Exploring Circular Economy at Ryōsokuin, Kyoto—“→Use Forever Exhibition 2024 / MUGE”

The Design Division of Panasonic Corporation held the “→Use Forever Exhibition 2024 / MUGE” event from September 28 to October 6, 2024, at Ryōsokuin in Kyoto, where Panasonic designers explore circular economy and business transformation. The Panasonic Group is examining various aspects of achieving a circular economy, including new product designs and delivery methods. This exhibition was positioned as an opportunity to think about the concept of “Use Forever” with our customers and to nurture it as a “culture.”

The exhibition’s sub-theme, “MUGE,” is derived from the Zen term “Yūzū Muge,” which means “everything is interconnected and harmonized,” with “Muge” signifying “freedom from obstacles.” As environmental issues become more severe, there is a need for new mechanisms and approaches that go beyond traditional thinking. By taking a more flexible and open approach to rethinking the relationship between people and home appliances, Panasonic has proposed a new form known as “Use Forever.”
