Seoul, Korea - On March 25, 2015, Panasonic Korea Co., Ltd. (PKL) held a product & technology seminar at the Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel in Seoul, Republic of Korea, with a view to expanding the system solutions business toward the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games.
This seminar was held with support of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG). On the day, Panasonic's activities as an Olympic sponsor were presented and category products based on the Olympic sponsorship contract (audiovisual equipment) was exhibited as well.
Approximately 220 people participated, including Kwak Young Jin, Vice Chairman, POCOG; Kim Ji Young, Director General of Gangwon Province Headquarters for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic &Paralympic Winter Games; and Korean system integrators. Participants from Panasonic included PKL President Roh Un-Ha and members of Groupwide Brand Communications (BC) Division, Worldwide Olympic & Paralympic Marketing Section and the business divisions concerned.
In his opening address, President Roh said, "The purpose of this seminar is to explain to our partners about distinct products, technologies, and services, which Panasonic has developed through its experience as The Olympic Partner (TOP) since 1988. We desire to work with everyone here today to promote preparation and operation of PyeongChang 2018. And, we hope to help in any way we can to make PyeongChang 2018 a success, which the whole nation of Korea is looking forward to."
Subsequently, POCOG Vice Chairman Kwak expressed his expectation, "Panasonic is a leading company in the electronics field that has been one of the TOP Sponsor since 1988 and therefore, is a partner indispensable for us to make PyeongChang 2018 successful. We want to make PyeongChang 2018 an event that employs the world's most advanced IT technologies and I expect this to be realized through collaboration between Panasonic with its high technology and the Korean businesses that have gathered here today."
As the first trial of its kind, product demonstrations were done in the form of a live broadcast with the use of broadcasting cameras. This enabled the participants to learn about product features while remaining seated, which received a favorable reception. There was also a lively exchange of questions and answers. Thus, the seminar was a great success.
With this seminar as the start, PKL will promote far-seeing activities in anticipation of post-Olympic business expansion, as well as working to win business to provide system solutions for PyeongChang 2018. In this context, PKL will build up relationships with strong partners and conduct negotiations in a concrete way.
PyeongChang 2018 will take place in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do from February 9 to 25, 2018.
