On January 29, 2013, Panasonic together with its distributor in Sri Lanka, Softlogic, held a press conference to announce it will bring its mobile showroom to Sri Lanka in order to bring the entire range of Panasonic’s key products to all parts of the island over the full calendar year. The aim is to allow easier access to Panasonic products to the wider population.
In addition to displaying the Panasonic range, the mobile showroom will also carry out live demonstrations of the products on offer, allowing customers to experience the products before purchasing as well as use it as a platform to conduct regional promotions and campaign events.
The 18.5 foot truck features several distinct sections which would display different product types such as a cookery section featuring Panasonic’s range of Rice Cookers, Blenders and Mixer Grinders while its high end products section would feature 3D Smart VIERA LED TV’s, a full range of digital camera, 3D Blu-ray players, Home Theatre Systems and Panasonic audio systems. The home appliances section will showcase the entire Panasonic range of Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Air Conditioners while the beauty care section would have a wide array of Hair Dryers, Stylers, Epilators, Hair Irons, Electric Shavers and Electric toothbrushes on offer.
The showroom will also have several sales assistants and technicians with in depth knowledge about all products on offer and are equipped to help customers with any inquiries they may have about the products and its features.
At present there are over 150 Panasonic stores located islandwide, and there are plans to expand it to 250 outlets by December 2013. Despite this, the Panasonic Greater Mekong Marketing & Sales Company still felt there was a need to launch the mobile showroom so that they could directly engage the customer and also make their shopping experience more fun and interactive by allowing them to see the products in their own neighbourhoods. Panasonic hopes to reach many rural areas with the launch of the Panasonic mobile showroom allowing people living in the rural areas easier and more convenient access to Panasonic’s consumer electronics.
