Osaka, Japan – On August 31, 2023, Panasonic Holdings Corporation updated the Sustainability section of its corporate website and released its Sustainability Data Book 2023.
The Sustainability section of the Panasonic Group’s website provides comprehensive reports on its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and activities. The company also selected key initiatives and data that hold stakeholder interest from these reports and compiled them into the Sustainability Data Book 2023, which is now publicly available.
1. The Data Book includes our sustainability approach and promotion frameworks, our process for identifying priority sustainability issues (materiality), and our policies, structure, major initiatives, and achievements under each theme.
2. Environment:
The report outlines the progress of initiatives for “Panasonic GREEN IMPACT” and the first-year results of the environmental action plan “GREEN IMPACT PLAN 2024.” It also includes our voluntary disclosure of the calculations for representative examples of “Avoided Emissions”—an opportunity indicator of a company’s contribution to decarbonization—in our six business areas, allowing for objective evaluation. In addition, we analyzed scenarios for the TCFD* in response to investor requests and included the results in this report.
*Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures; Established by the Financial Stability Board as requested at a G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting.
3. Society:
The company improved its reporting for greater disclosure on due diligence regarding Panasonic Group’s operations and supply chain, and on employee well-being through Group policies and major initiatives. This also includes product quality & safety, AI Ethics, customer relations, advertising, intellectual property, and community relations.
4. Governance:
It reports on corporate governance, risk management, business ethics, and cyber security & data protection.
