Tokyo, Japan - With its state-of-the-art imaging technologies, Panasonic Corporation (hereafter referred to as Panasonic) has helped create an all-new environment within ASICS Sports Complex Corporation's (hereafter referred to as ASC) new training facility, "ASICS Sports Complex TOKYO BAY," which will open on November 1, 2019 in Tokyo's Koto Ward.
"ASICS Sports Complex TOKYO BAY" is a large, urban, low-oxygen training facility, located within the multi-purpose facility scheduled to open in Toyosu, Koto Ward, Tokyo. It is managed and operated by ASICS' subsidiary, ASC.
Low-oxygen training refers to training in an oxygen reduced atmosphere. Training in an hypoxic atmosphere yields quicker results for overall endurance and stamina as well as reduction of body fat.
The cutting-edge training facility will offer a new athletic experience for a wide range of customers, from top athletes who want to improve their performance to people who simply want to extend their healthy life expectancy.
Panasonic has helped produce the space within this new training center.
For example, within the studio, Panasonic installed one of the largest(*) projection mapping audio systems for sports facilities in Tokyo, measuring 15 m wide and 5 m high as well as a visual, audio content management system and a lighting control system, which enable catering of content and ambience according to the training program. Panasonic's advanced spatial design and 4K imaging technologies will bring to life a truly immersive training environment.
Drawing on its extensive know-how in spatial design Panasonic will bring to life a facility that offers hospitality solutions not only to sports facilities but also to future offices, shops, and stadiums.
* According to a Panasonic survey, as of October 9, 2019.
Solutions provided:
Imaging network system and visual content
Four large projectors are used in the studio, projecting 4K-equivalent images horizontally onto the walls. By also installing speakers and subwoofers, the visual and audio performance increases the immersion effect during training.
Lighting control in synch with visual content
A light color control system is used in the studio. By changing the color temperature and intensity of the lighting, a variety of spatial environments can be produced. Also, linking with the visual system makes it possible to reproduce appropriate lighting situations in order to create a space for immersive training.
Others
Panasonic beauty and grooming appliances are provided in the "powder corners" of male and female dressing rooms to help support comfortable environments.
