Panasonic Showcases Innovative Electrical Construction Materials At Middle East Electricity Exhibition 2014

Showcasing its product line-up at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition (MEE) 2014, Panasonic is confident that its expanded range of electrical construction materials comprising of wiring, electrical, conduit, lighting and air moving solutions are designed to offer increased functionality and efficiency to Middle East homes and buildings in the coming years. MEE 2014 was held from 11th - 13th February 2014 in Dubai and was supported by the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), Dubai Municipality, Emirates Green Building Council, Society of Engineers - UAE, Environmental Center for Arab Towns, Clean Energy Business Council and Energy Institute Middle East.

Panasonic's key highlight at the exhibition comprised of a new high-end series of wiring devices product line, such as its 'Flatima series' switches that incorporate, cutting edge design, functionality and luxury. The Flatima series is Panasonic's top range of wiring devices bringing up a unique taste of elegance in part with the latest interior design trends. The Flatima series has won the IF product design award in Germany in 2009.

Commenting on the participation at the exhibition, Mr. Tatsuo Maeda, General Manager, Eco Solutions Division, Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa, said, "The Middle East construction industry is set to experience an unparalleled construction activity over the next decade and the economies are paving their way towards gaining international recognition. In line with this robust development plans, Panasonic aims to tap this booming industry and offer products that can effectively meet the needs of this growing sector."

Also showcased at the exhibition were latest technologies like the Ceiling Mount Ventilation Fan with DC Motor and the Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) Fan for IAQ solutions to enhance comfortable living in today's air tight housing environment. Panasonic's premium ceiling fans were also announced during the show. Panasonic's expertise in ventilating solutions has allowed it to create products that provide a healthy and comfortable living environment and it is constantly engaged in awareness programs to educate people on the importance of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), while emphasising on 24 hour ventilation solutions, which are essential for a healthy living. In addition to IAQ system solutions, Panasonic also offers IAQ spot solution for kitchen fans & bathroom fans alike.

Last but not the least, Panasonic's energy-saving LED lamps were also being showcased. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) data from 1990 to 2008, the average energy use per person increased 10 per cent while world population increased 27 per cent. Reports also indicate that the Middle East electricity consumption has increased by 170%. Panasonic's LED bulbs on the other hand can help save 70% of the energy used compared to incandescent light bulbs and 50% by compact fluorescent lamp, allowing energy consumption to be greatly reduced. With the World Economic Outlook valuing the 60,000 construction projects underway across the Middle East at above USD 2 trillion (Source: World Economic Outlook Report) and other reports also indicating a considerable increase of 'sustainable real estate' in the Middle East Markets over the next five years, Panasonic believes that it is gearing towards offering the industry with some innovative products and a vast product lineup.
