Panasonic Corporation of North America (PNA) hosted a press presentation event at its Innovation Center, the company's first ever general showroom in the United States, located within the new offices in Newark, New Jersey. At the Innovation Center and at the venue for the US Open Tennis Championships (US Open) , the company is appealing its transition into a company that provides a wide range of B2B solutions alongside its consumer products familiar to the American market.
PNA finally completed construction of its new company offices in Newark, New Jersey, after an announcement to move from its original office location in Secaucus to a brand new state-of-the-art, sustainable building that is an embodiment of the company's commitment to the environment and to meeting its goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 50 percent. A gradual relocation from the former company premises in Secaucus began on July 20, with the new site opened for office function on August 5, 2013. Located adjacent to the Newark Penn Station transit hub, the Panasonic Building enables employees to take advantage of a wide range of public transit options.
The new company offices are combined with the also newly established Panasonic Innovation Center, whose central focus is on displays of solutions designed for business users. The Innovation Center introduces the company's latest technologies, vision, and history. It is divided into various different areas to promote Panasonic's wide range of B2C and B2B fields, from home solutions to avionics, automotive, and eco solutions.
The center is scheduled to open officially in September, but specially invited affiliates have been offered an advance showing during the US Open, which ran from August 26 to September 9. Sustainability is also a focus as the facility's exterior built to attain LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Buildings Council. PNA anticipates that this new LEED building will enable them to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their corporate HQ operations by 45% when compared to their 2007 emissions.
