This year Panasonic took another aggressive approach in educating the public on its eco ideas initiatives through an extensive showcase of its comprehensive end-to-end solutions towards building an ECONATION at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) from October 10 to 13 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in Malaysia. Taking up a larger space compared to last year, Panasonic Malaysia is the biggest exhibitor here.
IGEM is one of Asia's largest environmental exhibitions hosted by the Malaysian government. This is the third time to be held in Malaysia, IGEM welcomed approximately more than 600 exhibitors from 32 countries as well as an attendance number of more than 80,000.
At the exhibition, Panasonic Malaysia showcased nine key areas of interest such as:
PanaHome Building Solutions; Comprehensive Solutions for Home, Office, Convenience Store, Building, Factory and Township; 'eco ideas' Kitchen; Features of 'Panasonic Econation Center'; EV Charging Solutions in collaboration with Nissan Leaf of Tan Chong Group; Concept of Fujisawa Smart & Sustainable Township; Partnership Showcase of Panasonic & National Geographic Channel and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
A periodical Live Demonstration of 'eco ideas' for Lifestyle & Business Style was also conducted.
During the exhibition, Panasonic also hosted and sponsored the first eco forum entitled "Building an ECONATION" with guest speakers from green industries such as National Geographic Traveler photographer Justin Guariglia; Denis Wong from Tan Chong Group, Badriyah Hj. Abd Malek from Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), and Hirofumi Yasuhara from PanaHome Corporation Japan Ltd. Keynote speaker was Jeff Lee from Panasonic Malaysia and moderated by Shah Redza from Malaysia Nature Society (MNS). The forum discussed on green issues and technologies, and how together everyone can work towards a greener future for Malaysia.
In addition to welcoming overseas guests, honourable local guests also visited the booth. On October 11, Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Abdul Razak and other senior government officials took time to visit Panasonic's booth and displayed considerable interest in Panasonic's comprehensive solutions and ECONATION concept.
