This is the second announcement of the green brand ranking and Panasonic moved up 4 places from the last year, 10th to 6th. Brands were evaluated based on the Green Performance (corporate environmental performance) and the Green Perception (public perception of green performance), and top fifty brands were selected.

Panasonic received high scores especially in "Products & Services", "Governance", "Transportation and Logistics" and "Supply Chain" in the Green Performance.

In addition, Panasonic was highly evaluated in the following points:
  • Panasonic has not only met, but has, in several cases, surpassed stringent governmental and private sector regulations and guidelines in the past few years.
  • Panasonic excels in the "Products & Services" pillar with a strong line-up of eco-friendly products, including EPEAT certified Panasonic TOUGHBOOK, a plethora of Energy Star certified devices, and high-tech "ECO NAVI" enabled devices that analyze their surroundings and save energy.
  • Panasonic ranked in the top 10 in the green perception in Japan.

Panasonic aims to be the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry by 2018 (fiscal 2019), the 100th anniversary of our founding. We will make the 'environment' central to all of our business activities and take the lead in promoting the "Green Revolution" which is taking place around the world for the next generation.

*EPEAT (Electronic Product Environment Assessment Tool) is the definitive global registry for greener electronics.
