Panasonic's ziaino, Air Treatment Unit, Acquires HACCP International Certification

Osaka, Japan – Panasonic Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Panasonic) today announced that on October 17, 2024, its Heating & Ventilation A/C Company has obtained the HACCP International certification, a global license certifying the safety of equipment and services used in the food industry, for ziaino, Air Treatment Unit. The product has been highly regarded for its ease of maintenance, including cleaning, use of safe materials and mechanisms, and inhibition effects for bacteria verified by a third-party organization.

HACCP*¹ is an internationally recognized hygiene management method for ensuring food safety that has been established as a system, in principle, for all food-related businesses since June 2021.
It aims to ensure food safety by identifying factors that impede safety at each stage, from the receipt of raw materials to production and shipping, and continuously managing key points that help prevent harm. HACCP International certification is a third-party certification system based on the HACCP concept, in which equipment, materials, and supplies used at food manufacturing sites are assessed and certified by HACCP International, an international certification authority headquartered in Australia.

The certification mark is widely recognized internationally in the field of food safety, and certified products contribute to the enhancement of hygiene management at food manufacturing sites.

ziaino can inhibit for bacteria and viruses,*² deodorize,*³ collect dust,*⁴ and humidify*⁵ with an all-in-one unit to create a safe and comfortable air environment. It has been deployed in nine countries and regions, including Japan, China, and Malaysia, where its excellent performance has been recognized. The product is widely used in facilities related to healthcare, nursing care, education, accommodation, pets, and more. The certification acquired this time applies to a total of 27 model numbers, including stationary type models that require no special construction*⁶ and ceiling mount equipment type models.*⁷

Panasonic will continue to leverage its hypochlorous acid technology to create indoor air environments where customers around the world can spend time safely and comfortably. Additionally, Panasonic will develop proposals and products that contribute to hygiene management in the food industry and expand sales of these products.
