Osaka, Japan, September 3, 2025 – Panasonic Entertainment & Communication announced today its advanced new remote camera controller (AW-RP200GJ) offering enhanced usability for large-scale, multi-camera productions. Scheduled for release in Q1 CY2026,1 the controller builds on the highly regarded operability of its predecessor (AW-RP150GJ), while introducing new features including Panasonic’s first-ever macro functionality, dual joysticks and features for enhanced multi-camera shooting. The AW-RP200GJ is engineered to meet the growing demand for more versatile and sophisticated shooting techniques, such as robotic arm integration and advanced multi-camera setups, to elevate video content value. The controller initially will be exhibited at International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2025 in Amsterdam from September 12–15.

The AW-RP200GJ enables highly convenient macro functionality, unprecedented among Panasonic`s remote camera controllers. Macros can be easily registered to perform tasks with the push of a button, such as simultaneous control of multiple cameras or executing a sequence of actions using presets. Controlling other cameras during macro execution is also possible, enabling efficient operation of multiple cameras to support high-quality video production even with limited personnel.

Along with the main joystick for pan, tilt, zoom, and focus control—carried over from its predecessor AW-RP150GJ—the new AW-RP200GJ controller also features an additional joystick on the left side. The right (R) joystick allows intuitive one-handed control of pan, tilt, and zoom (or focus), while the newly added left (L) joystick can be assigned to various functions such as menu navigation and cropping operations. Together, the two joysticks enable simultaneous control of different tasks and even allow a single operator to manage multiple remote cameras from one controller. This dual-joystick configuration provides highly advanced and intuitive control for professional video production environments.
The newly introduced AW-RP200GJ also offers 20 multi-select hardware switches assignable to functions such as camera selection, preset recall, macro execution, and much more. Each switch has its own built-in LCD to display the assigned mode so that tasks can be executed accurately and quickly.

In addition, device settings can be conveniently configured via a web browser in a connected PC. This includes batch assignment of IP addresses and camera numbers for multiple units, significantly reducing setup time when building large-scale systems. Operators can also perform menu operations, create macros, and assign functions to user-defined buttons using the web-based interface, streamlining system configuration workflow.

Furthermore, in addition to 3G-SDI input, Panasonic’s new controller supports IP video input via NDI® High Bandwidth2 and SRT.3 Video from cameras connected via Ethernet cables can be monitored directly with the built-in LCD screen and through the SDI OUT, enhancing on-site setup and operational efficiency.
