SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS Competition, a Project Supported by the IOC and IPC, Seeks Winning Ideas from Students Worldwide!

The theme announced as "GOING BEYOND BARRIERS"

Osaka, Japan - Panasonic Corporation will hold a contest titled SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in 2020, coinciding with the hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. The competition will be open to students in the future Olympic and Paralympic host countries, which are Japan, China, France and the United States. Ideas to cultivate values and expand attractiveness of Olympic and Paralympic sports using the audio-visual technology in Panasonic's Olympic/Paralympic sponsorship category.

Ideas wanted on the theme of "GOING BEYOND BARRIERS"
SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS is organized by Panasonic Corporation with the cooperation of the IOC and IPC. In keeping with the theme of, "GOING BEYOND BARRIERS," entrants will be asked to submit new ideas which transcend various barriers that exist in today's world, Whether between people with and without impairment, between the real and the virtual, or between genders, to generate additional values and attractiveness in Olympic and Paralympic Sports. Applied ideas will be judged based on several criteria: Innovativeness, SDGs orientedness, Creativity and so forth. Winning teams will be invited to the Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, as well as one of the Paralympic events. They will also work with Panasonic Corporation on a collaborative project with the aim of get its idea adopted at future Olympic and Paralympic Games. To evaluate students' ideas, actual demos based on entrants' submissions will be displayed in Tokyo in the summer of 2020, followed by the hosting of the competition final.

SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS Project Overview

Theme
Ideas to cultivate values and expand attractiveness of Olympic and Paralympic sports using the audio-visual technology in Panasonic's Olympic/Paralympic sponsorship category.

Application requirements
Applicants (up to 3 people with a leader) must be students in universities, graduate school junior college, technical, technical colleges, or vocational schools in Japan at the time of application and as of August 24 in 2020. Applicants may be any nationality or age but do not belong to companies.

Prize for winning teams
Invitation to the Opening Ceremony and the competition of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games (Up to 3 per group)
Presentation of your idea to the Olympic and Paralympic organization (IOC, IPC, and Organising committee) for the future Games.
