Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Rising energy demand has placed greater emphasis on resource conservation and efficient resource allocation. Countries like Malaysia are actively promoting the development of "green buildings" through green building councils and associations, as well as legislations and incentives.

On 16 January 2015, Panasonic launched Panasonic Appliances Air-Conditioning System Engineering Malaysia (PAPASEMY) to cater to growing demand of energy efficient, large scale air conditioning system solutions. This is in line with the company's global direction of enhancing its presence in the business-to-business (B2B) sector, particularly in the energy management portfolio.

Mamoru Yoshida, Executive Board Member of Panasonic Corporation, Japan, in charge of Air Conditioner Business Division, commented, "The establishment of PAPASEMY will put Panasonic in a position to effectively capture a major market share for the VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) and Packaged Air-Conditioner business by 2018. Currently, Panasonic air conditioners are already well received by many building developers in Malaysia."

The company targets RM 800 million in revenue for the commercial air conditioning system segment, with VRF air conditioners being the major contributor.

PAPASEMY aims to be a one stop solutions centre for commercial air conditioning systems solutions by providing value added services to building owners, developers and corporations. It unifies sales functions (AC design & planning, sales, delivery logistics, after sales support) and factory facility functions (corporate planning, R&D, manufacturing) for local business partners.

In addition, customers are also offered Asia's first cloud solution service, the "Panasonic Smart Cloud", which combines advanced air conditioning system solutions with intelligent data processing. Via a single internet connection, customers can manage the air-conditioned environment of partner buildings round the clock. This allows convenient operation analysis and reporting, energy efficiency and predictive maintenance which saves time. Customers utilising "Panasonic Smart Cloud" will have access to PAPASEMY's customer service team 24/7.

Toshi Watanabe, Deputy Director of Panasonic Appliances Air-Conditioning System Engineering Malaysia, shared, "Today's business environment is ever changing and choosing the right partner with to offer up-to-date energy management solutions is vital.
