Vision Statement from the Regional Representatives for USA

The barrier that the finalists from USA have selected to overcome is "the reluctance felt by people with physical disabilities to watch sports." In a video message sent to the "SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS Preliminary Event in Mirror Field" held on March 9, 2021, they explained that they would like to make access to the Olympics Games more inclusive for people with hearing impairments. We introduce the video and full text of the regional representatives for USA below.

Hello, my name is Joshua Santiago. My two teammates are Justin and Timothy, and we are the LA Team. Our team has been working really hard these past few months, so it's rewarding to say that we're almost done. I am currently recording this in my own home, so sadly they can't introduce themselves. A little bit about me: I'm currently going to California State University-Northridge, and I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I love nature and helping people, so I decided why not to do so with our inventions and new innovations.

The barriers we are hoping to overcome with our idea are to help those with disabilities attend the Olympic Games at the stadium, specifically those who are hearing impaired at all levels. I'm excited to say that our presentation will be held this August of this year, and I hope to see you all there!
