His friends know him for his boundless creativity; his hobbies and interests reflect this. He is a creative writer, most frequently in the genre of fantasy, and he is always working out new ideas or stories. He also loves tabletop role-playing games, video games, and learning new things about history, languages, and culture. Below is our interview with Bob van der Horst, the regional representative for Europe in the SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS program.

Strengths
My biggest skill is my creativity, and adapting that creativity to other people's ideas. I also do not mind taking the lead and being decisive, and I always want to help and make sure that the people I speak to or work with are happy. I try to see the positive in everything and everyone, and remain cheerful and enthusiastic.

Dreams
My dream is to have a positive impact on the world and on people. I want to use my writing and my creativity to bring people diversion from everyday life and to bring happiness.

College Life
I study at Leiden University, and have also had the opportunity to study at the University of Hull as part of a scholarship program. Regardless of my place of study, I try to keep a good balance between studying, spending time with my girlfriend, socializing, and other fun activities.

Why did you participate in the SPORTS CHANGE MAKERS competition?
The competition was an exciting prospect and an opportunity to work together with my friends--my teammates--to create an impactful idea and participate in its development.

How did you feel when you were selected as the regional representative?
Like my teammates, I was very excited. It seemed--and still seems--unreal to me that we were given the opportunity to develop ideas at such a high level. I was also very happy to share the journey with my friends.

Message to your teammates
A wholehearted thank you. I could not wish for a better group of friends to spend my year abroad with or better partners on this great project.

Please say a few words to express your determination for August 23?
It has been my dream for some time to visit Japan, and it is spectacular that I will be able to go during such an amazing and global event as the Olympic and Paralympic Games. I am really looking forward to the experience and to finish the project with a product we are proud of.
