[The future our young employee wants to create, where diversity is an advantage]
Continuously making efforts to create a better society, Panasonic has various initiatives for D&I (Diversity and Inclusion). By promoting D&I, Panasonic aims to be the most rewarding workplace where people with diverse backgrounds can maximize their potential. "I would like to create a society where each of us can leverage our unique passions and strengths to achieve success," says Joe Flynn, Global Communications Specialist.
Born to an Australian father and a Japanese mother, he grew up in a cross-cultural environment. He went on a round-the-world trip five times during his college years and has worked as an interpreter in more than 50 countries. What led to his current passion for promoting D&I was his own experience of finding himself stuck in between cultures and not being understood.
He believes that connecting people with different perspectives can create synergies, which strongly resonates with what #KonosukeMatsushita, the founder of Panasonic, once said: "We must collect wisdom from many people, so we can create values that we could never come up with alone." In the interview, Joe shares his reason for being, dreams, and the strengths that Panasonic can offer.
We support Joe, who continuously pursues new challenges.
