Panasonic marks five million washing machines shipped from Vietnamese site

Tokyo, Japan, November 17, 2025 – Panasonic Corporation (https://holdings.panasonic/global/) today announced that its Living Appliances and Solutions Company (Panasonic) has reached a cumulative total of five million washing machines shipped from Panasonic Appliances Vietnam Co., Ltd. (PAPVN), as of the end of September 2025, since production first began at the site.

Panasonic launched washing machine production in Vietnam in 2013 to meet strong market growth alongside the country's economic development. At the same time, it established an R&D Center within PAPVN, where local members have led the development of products made in Vietnam for Vietnamese consumers. Today, the Vietnam facility has evolved into one of Panasonic's global washing-machine manufacturing hubs, supplying products not only to Vietnam and other Southeast Asian markets but also to other regions including the Middle East and Oceania.

Initially, the site focused solely on developing and producing top-loading washing machines. In 2016, Panasonic collaborated with a leading detergent manufacturer to develop washing machines tailored for suit rural environments and models adjusted for factors such as water pressure and voltage. In 2020, the company's outstanding energy-saving performance far exceeding conventional standards earned the Most Energy Efficient Products 2020 Award.
PAPVN has also introduced a series of Vietnam-first*1 innovations, such as Blue Ag+, a technology which uses silver ions to sterilize laundry without hot water. By combining powerful washing performance with Panasonic's hallmark high quality and reliability, the company has continued to develop products closely aligned with local lifestyles, becoming the leading manufacturer of top-loading washing machines*2 in Vietnam.

In recent years, as urbanization has advanced and awareness of water conservation has increased, the share of drum washing machines and washer dryers in the Southeast Asian washing machine market has risen sharply.*3 To meet this shift, Panasonic began developing drum washing and drying machines in Vietnam in 2018 and launched the CARE+ EDITION, a premium series incorporating unique features tailored to local living environments in 2022. It has been highly acclaimed for its refined design, reflecting the growing design-consciousness among consumers, and continues to expand its market share today.

Looking ahead, Panasonic will continue to deliver comfortable, sustainable, and locally optimized laundry solutions from Vietnam to consumers across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania, contributing to enriching everyday life in these regions.
