Commencement of Full-scale Operations at the New Wiring Device and Circuit Breaker Production Building at the Vietnam Plant

On January 23, 2024, Panasonic Electric Works Vietnam Co., Ltd., (Binh Duong, Vietnam) will begin full-scale operations at its newly constructed New Production Building within its wiring device and circuit breaker production plant.

Vietnam has experienced rapid economic growth in recent years and its GDP is expected to show a year-on-year growth of 7% until 2028. Electric Works Company, Panasonic Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Electric Works Company), is currently working to strengthen its Electrical Construction Materials Business on a global scale and designating Vietnam as a Key Focus Country in the ASEAN Region. As such, the company is committing in efforts to reinforce its productivity and strengthen its product development systems in the country.

The new building, construction of which began in 2022, initiated the installation of production facilities in September 2023, and has recently commenced full-scale operations. Moreover, in line with the construction of its New Production Building, Panasonic Electric Works Vietnam Co., Ltd., has optimized its production lines, including at its existing production buildings, to shorten lead times between manufacture and shipment. The company is also accelerating introduction of the automation technologies which has developed in Japan, and expects to double the current automation rate by 2025. This initiative is expected to enhance our production capacity to approximately 1.8 times that of 2022, strengthening our market responsiveness.

Further, in addition to supplementing plant-wide energy consumption with solar power generation equipment, the New Production Building is equipped with highly efficient LED lighting fixtures, heat pump air conditioning equipment, ventilation equipment, and other Panasonic products to promote more energy efficient product manufacturing.

Based on its accumulated technologies and expertise, Electric Works Company will continue with the global supply of electrical construction materials and facilities that can ensure safety, security, comfort, and fulfillment in people’s lives.
