Panasonic Donates for Earthquake Victims in Indonesia
Osaka, Japan - Panasonic, the leading brand for which Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. is known, today announced its donations to aid victims and support the recovery of the areas affected by the earthquake that struck Java Island, Indonesia.
Matsushita Electric and its regional headquarters in Singapore, Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte Ltd., will donate a total of 30 million yen (about US$270,000) including contributions made by employees under a matching gift program.
The Matsushita Group companies in Indonesia will deliver relief supplies equivalent to 7 million yen (about US$62,000) including 20,000 dry-cell batteries, 5,000 flashlights, 2,000 radios, and 50 TV sets.
The Matsushita Group and its employees feel great compassion for those affected by the earthquake devastation and sincerely hope for a swift recovery for people and areas affected by the disaster.
