Demonstrate Customer-centric Passion!
During the time I spent tracing the history of the Group’s technology, I felt the passionate dedication of our predecessors, and in the accumulated traces of their endeavors over more than a century, I found many new lessons. The way they pursued value creation while always asking, “What is the purpose of this technology?” from the customer’s perspective, applies not only to technology development, but to the work done by each of us. This is something I hope to keep firmly in mind from now on.

Waiting with Excitement for the Next Game-changing Technology!
From then to now and now into the future, technology is the be-all and end-all for the manufacturing companies of the Panasonic Group. With my pure humanities background, I won’t be giving birth to any game-changing technologies myself, but when the next one from Panasonic comes along, I’ll be waiting to communicate just how great it is, in detail and to everyone.

Creating a More Livable Future with Technology
My assignment for the summer issue was to write about Panasonic’s Technology Future Vision. I spent several months chasing grand visions and trying to convey them in ways that were easy to understand... [laugh]. Whether you are managing technology or working in a non-technical role, I urge you to immerse yourself in Panasonic’s Technology Future Vision.

Honoring the Legacies of Pioneers
In this issue’s Stories behind Panasonic History, I introduced the bronze statues of 11 great pioneers. On the morning of shooting day, I stood face to face with Edison. His gentle eyes gazed, not at the light bulb in his hand, but “somewhere” in the distance. If you have a chance to visit the Panasonic Group head office, please experience this for yourself. You’re sure to feel something special.

The Passion of Technologists Reaches Us Even from Far Away
I was responsible for articles covering international operations at Panasonic Avionics and Blue Yonder. These businesses are a frequent topic in Panasonic Group internal as well as external communications. Unfortunately, I was unable to actually visit both companies this time. But through remote coverage and reference photos, I got a good feel for the passion of their technical teams. I hope you’ll also get a sense of this from the articles.

Writing Activities Serving Present and Future
When looking back on the history of technology, one must of course research Panasonic’s technology history, gathering internal information widely and using the Internet to reference general articles. I felt both gratitude and powerful emotion that contemporary records and research articles are still easily accessible. I hope the writing activities of our editorial team, like technology itself, will prove useful tomorrow as well as today.

Experiencing Outstanding Technologies and the Dreams They Embody
The topic for this issue was technology—realizing the impossible, obtaining the unobtainable. Numerous outstanding technologies and the dreams of technologists are what made this possible. As I worked on the editing, I was once again struck forcefully by this. I hope I conveyed to everyone the strengths and aspirations of the Panasonic Group, which continues to support social evolution through technology and the diverse value technology creates.
