IFA, one of the world’s largest and most influential consumer electronics exhibitions, was held this year in Berlin, attracting attendees from 130 countries. Panasonic was one of 1,100 companies from 46 countries and regions showcasing their latest technologies at the event.
These included pure hydrogen fuel cells being deployed on a test basis to supply electricity to manufacturing facilities in Japan, and air-to-water heat pumps designed to meet the fast-growing demand in Europe for environmentally friendly heating solutions. During a presentation at the company’s booth opening event, Panasonic Corporation CEO Masahiro Shinada outlined the company’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality.

A key focus of Panasonic GREEN IMPACT, one of the Group’s key environmental initiatives, is to maximize the company’s contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions by accelerating the shift to clean energy. The Panasonic Energy Company is spearheading these effort by developing new cutting-edge battery technology.
The potential uses of batteries are growing exponentially, particularly in the automotive field. To meet this demand, Panasonic Energy has been diversifying its battery products for use in a variety of industries and consumer applications. The company is also taking steps to ensure its battery manufacturing processes will be virtually carbon-neutral by 2029.

Yohana, a Panasonic subsidiary, launched its Modern Family Concierge Service in the US in 2021. Members pay a monthly subscription fee and in return they are paired with a dedicated team of specialists, including local professionals and contractors, who help them with daily chores. By delegating routine tasks to their Yohana team, busy mothers and fathers can spend more time focused on their families or fulfilling personal goals.
Yohana is now rolling out their service in Japan, and the company plans to extend its service offering to other countries in due course. Panasonic sees Yohana as a good match for its mission to “contribute to the well-being of people, society, and the planet.”

Panasonic’s founder Konosuke Matsushita was a renowned business thought-leader whose philosophy still serves as a source of inspiration for Panasonic employees around the world today. The company recently launched a campaign to share some of his key principles internally, and as part of this, employees from Japan and India were invited to shared their favorite Matsushita quotes.
In a short Instagram post, each of them explained how his words have resonated with them and inspired them in their personal and professional lives. They cited his musings on the topics of courage, success & failure, education, and the need to view issues from new perspectives in a variety of individual stories.
