Tokyo, Japan – On March 14, Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis and a delegation of 40 California government officials and other concerned parties visited Panasonic Center Tokyo in order to observe and discuss our environmental vision and technological solutions.
The Group’s demonstration of an energy management system in California added momentum to the realization of the visit. With the Government of California having forged steadily ahead with its electrification policies for buildings and vehicles, the visitors to the Center consisted of governmental officials from the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), the California Energy Commission (CEC), and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as well as energy company executives. In addition to our technologies for energy conservation and renewable energy, they voiced expectations for our technology that has the potential to contribute to future demand flexibility in the housing sector.
The Company made a presentation on Panasonic’s environmental vision and technologies to contribute to carbon neutrality. These included the air-to-water heat pumps that contributes to power load leveling with IoT monitoring and demand response functions in addition to our unique heat recovery technology as well as our EV battery solutions that have gained the largest market share in North America. We also took the visitors on a tour of Panasonic Center Tokyo to show them our solutions for supporting community, mobility and lifestyles as well as the perovskite solar cells that attracted attention at CES 2023.
The Panasonic Group is striving to achieve an annual reduction of 93 million tons of CO2 in FY2030, particularly by strengthening competitiveness in the three areas of electrification, energy efficiency, and hydrogen. We are committed to expanding and accelerating a wide range of activities contributing to CO2 reduction and aiming to thereby realize carbon neutrality.
