Explore Panasonic Founder Konosuke Matsushita's Global Perspective

The Konosuke Matsushita Museum (Osaka, Japan) is currently hosting a special exhibition　entitled "Konosuke Matsushita's Global Perspective-Quest for Prosperity-". and will be available to the public until July 15, 2011.

Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic Corporation, had always had a long vision and not long after the founding of Panasonic, he had already turned his gaze toward the bustling economy of the world outside of Japan.　He learned about the mass production method by reading Henry Ford's life story, looked up to Edison as his mentor and worked tirelessly to invent and create electrical products throughout his lifetime. As a result of his commitment, Panasonic's path to globalization dates from the company's founding.

For example In the 1960s, Konosuke Matsushita took the lead among Japanese electronics manufacturers by building (the first Japanese) factories overseas. He conducted his business by aiming for the prosperity of the host countries, always rooting his decisions on its management philosophy. This special exhibition's theme explains the long history of the globalization of Panasonic due to its business management based on Konosuke Matsushita's and is explained through.

In the first part of this exhibition, Konosuke Matsushita's milestones on the path to globalization are showcased year by year, and a video of three speeches where the founder explains his global business management are played.

The success cases of global business expansion through his management philosophy, in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and China are introduced. Konosuke's initiatives have gained a large number of followers from all over the world, within and outside the company.

In addition, the exhibit extends to various displays of historically popular products and interviews of important figures of Panasonic. For example, the President of Panasonic UK, Keith Evans, talks about his memories of the founder and impact the founder's management philosophy has had on him.

This April, a new structure was launched as Panasonic Electric Works and SANYO Electric became wholly -owned subsidiaries of the Panasonic Group. During this special exhibition, the Konosuke Matsushita Museum will be open until 6:00 pm on weekdays, and 5:00 pm on Saturdays (closed Sundays and public holidays).
