Panasonic Releases Bathroom Heater/dryer/ventilation Systems with a Sauna-like Mist Function in China

In response to growing interest in beauty and health in China, Panasonic Ecology Systems will bring its IAQ products to China to contribute to the creation of healthy and comfortable spaces.

Kasugai, Aichi Pref., Japan - Panasonic Ecology Systems Co., Ltd. (Panasonic Ecology Systems), a Panasonic group company, today announced that it will release a new bathroom heater/dryer/ventilation system equipped with a sauna-like mist function for sale in the Chinese market from February 2013. This product will also be rolled out in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Since 2004, Panasonic Ecology Systems has sold bathroom heater/dryer/ventilation systems in the Chinese market. The company currently offers a lineup of eight models, ranging from standard to high-end models, and has worked to create a comfortable bathroom environment, focusing on luxury apartments and holidays houses. The increasing awareness in China of the need for beauty and health has led to growing interest in saunas, and this has prompted Panasonic to develop bathroom heater/dryer/ventilation systems equipped with a sauna-like mist function. This is the first time for the company to sell products of this nature in China.

Panasonic Ecology Systems is aiming to penetrate the market early on by opening demonstration spaces where customers can try out the products and a special promotional website, and will expand sales by establishing an installation and maintenance system in order to respond to the needs of both newly-built and renovated houses in China.

Bathroom Heater/dryer/ventilation Systems with Sauna-like Mist Function

The product is equipped with a sauna-like mist function that maintains the bathroom atmosphere at 30°C to 45°C with high humidity. Based on technology implemented in similar products sold in Japan, a centrifugal microspray structure, a first for China, atomizes water into droplets smaller than 1 μm in diameter and releases them into the bathroom.

The product is further equipped with two modes: Moisture Mode, for creating a highly humid atmosphere at around 35°C that is ideal for skin and hair care, and Sauna Mode, which encourages sweating in a high-humidity atmosphere at around 40°C. The sauna-like mist function creates a medium-temperature high-humidity atmosphere, which is less stressful on the body than a traditional high-temperature sauna.

The product is also equipped with a ventilation and drying function for cleaning the bathroom. The company is now preparing demonstration spaces, through tie-ups with hotels and esthetic clinics, where people can experience the new steam mist room for themselves. A special website will also be opened to promote the benefits of the product.

Installation and Maintenance System

The company has installed demonstration spaces in its factories in Beijing and Shunde in Guangdong. Dealers are invited to inspect them and try them out for themselves. Training sessions for installers and maintenance staff will also be held to provide the knowledge and skills needed to maximize customer satisfaction and comfort in the steam mist room.

Sales Channels

Initially, the product will be sold by certified dealers who already have the installation and maintenance capabilities needed to guarantee optimal customer service. In the future, to expand sales channels, the number of certified dealers will be increased and supported by the provision of dedicated training and certification services.

Panasonic Ecology Systems will continue to contribute to the creation of healthy and comfortable indoor environments with its IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) products.
