Osaka, Japan – On October 4, 2023, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition showcased the Pavilions for Private Sectors Concept Presentation in Tokyo. The Panasonic Group gave a presentation on the theme of co-creation, which it has begun to address by taking advantage of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” Based on the concept of “People’s Living Lab—a laboratory for a future society,” the Expo is expected to serve as a space where people around the world can share ideas and co-create our future society. Furthermore, it will be a place where knowledge from around the world, including cutting-edge technology, is brought together in one place to be used to create new ideas and be shared, all to help resolve global issues facing humanity.
Adhering to its management philosophy since its founding, the Panasonic Group has been engaged in activities to solve social issues through co-creation with various stakeholders, focusing on the business of providing products and services that are useful to its customers.
At the concept presentation, Yuichiro Haraguchi, General Producer of the Panasonic Group Pavilion NOMO NO KUNI, and Makoto Naritomi, a student at Osaka University, representing the co-creation members, appeared on stage to share their passion for co-creation at the Expo and their expectations for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

Haraguchi expressed his determination to make the Expo a place where the Panasonic Group can take the first step toward creating the future together with children, becoming a partner that empathizes with the aspirations of the players in this future society and helps them realize their vision. As a student, Naritomi expressed her hope to be exposed to the latest technologies and innovations, gain new knowledge and ideas, learn about environmental issues, and experience international exchange by participating in the Expo, so that she can think about her future and build a society from a global perspective.

In the video message at the beginning of the presentation, Michiko Ogawa, director of Kansai External Relations and Expo Promotion, Panasonic Holdings Corporation, along with university students who are deeply enthusiastic about the Expo, visited the Expo site, currently under construction, and engaged in discussions while holding scraps from the factories.

In the talk session following the presentation, Yoichi Ochiai, a thematic project producer for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, asked, “What does Panasonic mean by co-creation?” Haraguchi responded, “One thing we mean by co-creation is collaborating with various partners to create a pavilion with a lower environmental impact for the Expo through collective wisdom. Another aspect of co-creation is using the Expo as an opportunity to create the future with children.” He also mentioned that during the Expo, Panasonic aims to create a time capsule filled with children's wishes for the future and make them a reality through co-creation.

The presentation concluded with the phrase “In 2025, a mystic butterfly will take you on a journey,” a message that conjured the imagery of the exhibition and experience project.
Panasonic plans to independently release the logo design and concept of the exhibition and experience of the Panasonic Group Pavilion NOMO NO KUNI in late November.
