Let’s take a look back at our Top 5 Posts from April!
Our top post was something near and dear to everyone; an introduction to familiar products that changed our lives, like vending machines and air conditioners.
We also announced our Panasonic GREEN IMPACT Plan 2024 targets such as CO2 reduction and net zero CO2 emissions factories.
To make these decisions, we need leaders—which is why four women leaders at Panasonic North America—were happy to talk about their experiences and efforts to promote DEI activities and foster the next generation.
Panasonic also leads in the innovation of products that can help. Some creations, such as Yoichiro Masuda’s “weak robot” NICOBO do so by having us help them, restoring our own sense of peace and mental richness.
Finally, please join us in celebrating MULTISHAPE Series: Modular Personal Care System winning GOLD in the International if DESIGN AWARD 2023.

Even as the percentage of women in leadership positions continues to rise around the globe, achieving gender equity at decision-making levels in business remains a challenge.
Panasonic Group believes that diversity is not just the right thing to do—it is a business imperative that helps organizations expand their thinking and their creative horizons—and it is taking action across the organization to accelerate the participation of women in management.

Yoichiro Masuda wanted to meet the needs of people who live alone and the stresses they face, some of which are made worse by technologies such as smartphones.
That’s why he started leading a team of dozens of specialists behind the development of “NICOBO,” the “weak” or vulnerable robot by Panasonic that relies upon humans to survive.
NICOBO is similar to a pet in that it is cute, cuddly, and endearing—and bonds with its owner over time by responding to and learning from daily interaction.
“With digital evolution, and the speed of information always increasing, people are losing their peace of mind,” says Masuda.
“Our idea was to create something that was in some ways convenient but also weak, something that can help restore peace of mind and mental richness, an effect that sports, for instance, can produce. NICOBO can offer a form of digital detox.”
