Panasonic Completes Acquisition of Area Cooling in Poland

Tokyo, Japan, December 05, 2024 – Panasonic Corporation’s Cold Chain Solutions Company (Panasonic CCS) today announced the successful completion of its acquisition of 100% of the shares of Area Cooling Solutions Sp. z o.o. (Area Cooling), a prominent manufacturer of refrigeration equipment based in Poland. This acquisition was formalized through a share transfer agreement with Area Cooling's parent company, Cooling Solutions S.L., following the initial announcement made on July 9, 2024.

As part of this transition, Area Cooling will operate under the new name Panasonic Cold Chain Poland Sp. z o.o. The company will continue its core refrigeration business including its spare part supply while the distribution business for compressors and other HVACR components has been carved out prior to this acquisition into an independent entity, Cooling Solutions Sp. z o.o., based in Warsaw, Poland.

This acquisition strengthens Panasonic CCS’s foundation in the European refrigeration sector and accelerates the global expansion of its cold chain business. A key focus for Panasonic Cold Chain Poland will be the development and production of environmentally friendly refrigeration systems such as inverter-controlled condensing units and CO₂ condensing units, a solution increasingly sought after in the European market due to its environmental and economic benefits.
