Panasonic Launches "Reboot Space" to Elevate Its Nonresidential Space Solutions Business That Improves Air and Water Quality

- Co-creating new experiences and values for "air and water quality" with customers -

Osaka, Japan - Panasonic Ecology Systems Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Panasonic) proposes ways to improve "air and water quality" in nonresidential spaces such as offices, shops, hotels, schools, and hospitals. On August 5, the company launched the "Reboot Space," a space to come together with its customers to co-create new experiences and values for nonresidential spaces, on its premises in Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture. With this new initiative, Panasonic will amplify its efforts to offer solutions for nonresidential spaces that improve "air and water quality" and expand its business.

In recent years, there has been growing concern for air quality due to PM2.5 and pollen. Moreover, buildings are becoming increasingly air tight and super-insulated and have taken steps towards zero emissions, so there is rising demand for better air and water quality to improve comfort, health, and energy efficiency. People are looking for holistic solutions that, of course, address the basics like dust and pollutants, but also have additional features such as superior air and water quality for greater comfort and better health, as well as lighting, sounds, and visual content.

Since its predecessor, Kawakita Denki Kigyosha, began mass producing and selling AC electric fans in Japan back in 1913, Panasonic has dedicated more than a century to environmental businesses that improve air and water quality. It has developed home appliances and residential facilities such as ventilation, air purifiers as well as air purifiers for larger environments such as tunnels and water treatment. Going forward, the company will leverage this experience to offer solutions for nonresidential spaces.

The newly established "Reboot Space" will propose solutions that create new experiences and values for nonresidential spaces by mainly focusing on improving air and water quality, but by also combining lighting, sounds, and visual content. By having owners and designers of nonresidential spaces like offices and commercial facilities come and experience the solutions, Panasonic hopes to gain valuable feedback, which can be brought to life and presented in the "Reboot Space."

Panasonic will also transform these solutions into businesses by working with partners in charge of design, construction, and maintenance. Gaining further feedback from the market, Panasonic will use the know-how and continue to update these experiences and values and to expand its nonresidential space solutions business.
