Panasonic Vietnam Wins First Prize in "Energy Management in Industry and Building" Contest

On March 30th 2013, Panasonic Vietnam was honored with the first prize of the "Energy Management in Industry and Building" contest, held in Hanoi by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The "Energy Management in Industry and Building" contest was first held in 2010 by Ministry of Trade and Industry to promote the national sustainable development strategy through energy efficiency management and utilization. In 2012, the Ministry continued to organize the competition with the purpose to encourage creative methods in energy management, save energy performances so as to increase Vietnam enterprises' business profit for the sake of a "green and environmental friendly economy.

The competition has been screened for successful models in effective energy management in the country through effective solutions for management, operations, improvement activities, design, construction and renovation of equipment and technology.

Panasonic Vietnam was recognized for its various energy saving activities in renovating the infrastructure equipment and applying initiatives to reduce energy consumption, which bring in the result of 4.26 million kW saved a year, equivalent to 178,92 tons of CO2 emissions reduction in 2012.

The contest organization committee has also appreciated Panasonic's efforts in making the company to become the 'eco ideas' Factory in Vietnam. Panasonic Vietnam has not only carried out facility improvement to save the energy, but also implemented many activities for employees and the community to enhance the awareness on protecting environment for everybody.

With these achievement, Panasonic Vietnam's Managing Director was presented with the first prize trophy for EffectiveEnergy management in Industry by the Deputy President of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Huy Tuong.
