Panasonic Makes Visualizing Eco within a Factory Possible

Last month Panasonic added another eco showroom in Japan to its list of existing eco facilities. This eco showroom by the Kasugai Business unit of Panasonic Eco Systems Company tackles the problem of energy savings within a factory by making eco initiatives and research visible and easy to understand, utilizing data from actual production and equipment in operation as demonstrations.

Most importantly, by making the factory itself as a showroom, Panasonic not only helps increase understanding of energy-saving technology but also speeds up the expansion of the energy-saving support services for entire factories. Doing so, Panasonic will also spread green business innovation knowhow to the public to contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society.

Unique Examples of the Energy-Saving Support Service

  1. Simulation Technology
Simulations of optical piping designs, air-conditioning (temperature, humidity, pressure) and furnaces (temperature, flow rate) allow advance visualization of areas inside factories to predict with high accuracy energy-saving effects.
  2. Save Energy (SE)-Link
This technology gives the optimum energy-saving control based on fluctuations in values measured real-time for production and utility equipment.
  3. Panasonic Factory Energy Management System (P-FEMS)
This software supports visualization of energy to support total CO2 reduction. It displays in real time data measuring the operating condition of equipment and amount of energy consumed and carries out various analyses in one-minute units.

Furthermore, total solution with wastewater processing, wastewater recycling, exhaust gas processing, resources recycling, solar power generation, and more are provided to create a comprehensive green solution for the entire factory.

There are great expectations and needs for energy savings and Panasonic hopes that the eco visualization showroom can bring about greater understanding of the effects of energy savings in factories by showing an actual factory utilizing energy savings. Using the showroom Panasonic aims to communicate to society in detail its efforts to reduce CO2 in production operations and raise its green brand image. The company also hopes to accelerate the expansion of the energy-saving support service for entire factories as with its Green Business Innovation business model.
