Panasonic Becomes Official Partner of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games

Osaka, Japan - Panasonic Corporation, the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, announced today that the company will support the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games as the Official Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category.

The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games will take place from March 12 to 21, 2010 in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada. Approximately 600 athletes from 44 countries and regions will compete in five sports and 64 medal events. Panasonic has been an Official Partner of the Paralympic Games since the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. Through its support for international sporting events such as the Paralympic Games, Panasonic aims to contribute to the promotion of world peace and greater worldwide acceptance of people with a disability.

Panasonic will be providing a full lineup of audio visual equipment including LED large screen display systems, professional audio systems, flat screen TVs, digital video cameras, and broadcast equipment to support the staging of the Paralympic Games through cooperation with VANOC, and the Olympic Broadcasting Services Vancouver (OBSV). Panasonic will also supply its high-definition (HD) video equipment to the competition venues, and the International Broadcast Center, making the 2010 Vancouver Paralympic Winter Games the first Paralympic Winter Games to be broadcast completely in HD format. The Panasonic AV systems will deliver the passion and excitement of the Games to spectators around the world.
