And finally, some extra exciting news! Panasonic electronic materials were carried by the SpaceX Cargo Dragon to the International Space Station!

Poverty is more than a lack of purchasing power—it is a multidimensional issue that includes lack of access to basic infrastructure services, such as electricity. 

Today, an estimated 660 million people in Asia, Africa and elsewhere still lack access to electricity. Panasonic uses its renewable energy technology to provide lighting/electricity to communities, creating opportunities for education and health and realize a society without poverty. 
Its LIGHT UP THE FUTURE project donated > 100,000 units to communities in 30+ countries around the globe.

Introducing “Panasonic GREEN IMPACT”, our initiatives to tackle global warming and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The Panasonic Group has been improving the quality of people’s lives through our business, but as a result, we have created the responsibility that comes with it, emitting 110 million tons of CO₂ per year.

In addition to reducing all 110 million tons of CO₂ emissions from our own value chain, we will also commit to reducing the emissions from society. And by 2050, Panasonic aims to create an impact that reduces CO₂ emissions by more than 300 million tons.

We will strive to achieve carbon neutrality together with society.

Panasonic electronic materials are being carried into space aboard the launch of the SpaceX Cargo Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) at 9:30 a.m. on March 15, 2023 (Japan time).

Panasonic Industry is conducting space exposure experiments with their aerospace-grade circuit board materials and reinforcement adhesives by participating in the Space Delivery Project RETURN to EARTH program, led by Space BD Inc. 

The Panasonic materials on board will be exposed to the space environment for approximately three months after being mounted to the Exposed Mounting Facility adjacent to the Japanese Experiment Module Kibo on the ISS.

This information will enable Panasonic Industry to assess the impact of this extreme environment on its products and utilize the data obtained for future product development.
