Panasonic Defines New Frontiers of Technology at GITEX 2017

Dubai, the United Arab Emirates - Oct 17, 2017 - Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF) showcased a full line-up of advanced innovative solutions at GITEX Technology Week 2017, one of the most influential ICT exhibitions in the Middle East. The event was held in the United Arab Emirates from Oct 8th - 12th at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Like every year, GITEX Technology Week 2017 witnessed a vibrant presence of Integrators, Traders, Contractors as well as End-users from all over the Middle East region. Optimizing the event as a rewarding opportunity to reach out to our patrons, Panasonic this year introduced many futuristic solutions which are set to boost the region's most dynamically growing industry sectors - Retail, Hospitality, Leisure & Entertainment.

Post inauguration, Panasonic booth was graced by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum - Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

On the first day of the event, press conference was hosted for the regional media to announce Panasonic's B2B Regional Business strategy, Global Media & Entertainment Business Division strategy and new technologies that we showcased at GITEX. 50 Media Houses from UAE, GCC, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya & Pakistan attended the press conference.

Panasonic's GITEX booth displayed products and solutions including the following, promoting functions unique to Panasonic and the advantages of adoption to booth visitors.

Video entertainment solutions

In addition to dome mapping and stadium solutions, two projector models with laser light sources, to be released in November, were exhibited. The strengthened lineup of laser projectors is expected to increase sales to companies and schools as well as for events and rentals. Our 360-degree live cameras, which integrate four camera video systems, and compact and lightweight cinema cameras also received high praise from visitors.

IoT solutionss

TOUGHBOOK, TOUGHPAD, and TOUGHPAD 4K were on display. The video display of durability tests and the demonstration of sand and dust tests were used to show the products' durability. Visitors' interest in our new CF-33 laptop PC was particularly high, indicating sales possibilities for police departments. A 75-inch interactive display with 4K resolution was exhibited, with product introduction intended for use in meeting rooms and classrooms. High-definition videos and smooth operations received high reviews. For LinkRay, which makes use of light ID technologies, information provision to smartphones was demonstrated assuming use in shopping malls. The demonstrations generated several technical questions. We intend to promote sales activities based on the information we obtained here.

Communications Solutions

Against the backdrop of increasing demand for video communication in addition to the existing audio communication, our reference exhibits included Internet Protocol (IP) solutions that integrated IP intercom systems and IP-private branch exchange (PBX), and involved the demonstration of video communications from a smartphone to a door phone, as well as inter-network video call solutions, for which visitors showed a strong interest.

Furthermore, a high definition visual communication (HDVC) conference system was also on display, which enables connections with a maximum of 24 sites and allows for cross-platform connections such as tablet computers. This served as an effective promotion of our high quality image and audio, drawing visitors' attention. Another exhibit featured scanners capable of high-speed reading of ID cards, passports, and plain paper. The scanners, whose rollers do not require any cleaning for up to 600,000 readings, allowed us to stress their low maintenance cost.

Middle East is one of the major drivers for global economy, and GITEX is a platform that helps Panasonic showcase its latest and pioneering technology that cement the future of various industries in the region. These solutions showcased at the event this year, captivated audience's imagination and demonstrated our market leadership in the Middle East & Africa region.

By using this exhibition as a foothold, PMMAF aims to expand B2B solution businesses in this region with high potential needs in the entertainment field including the EXPO 2020 Dubai, as well as respond to projects involving comprehensive video production solutions in facilities such as Festival City, Dubai Frame, and Dubai Mall.

As a global trusted leader in technology, Panasonic will continue to engineer solutions that deliver unmatched quality and industry's leading technology. Panasonic will continue to remain committed to its corporate philosophy to realize 'A Better Life, A Better world'!
