Ene-1 GP Using Rechargeable EVOLTA Batteries Held at Suzuka

On August 5, the 2012 Ene-1 GP SUZUKA, a next generation energy car event, was held at the Suzuka circuit. As part of this event, the "KV-40 Challenge" was held and 71 teams participated. Panasonic was the official partner for the event, providing its rechargeable EVOLTA nickel-metal hydride batteries and battery chargers for the race.

The teams ran their self-made one-seater cars through the Suzuka circuit course in this race, and their power source was only our rechargeable EVOLTA batteries (40 AA batteries)! 

 

  • EVOLTA Robot

The power source for the cars made up of only 40 rechargeable EVOLTA batteries.

The winning team completed a lap of the course (5.807km) in less than 7 minute, and 30 teams could complete 3 laps with one battery charge, proving the long lifespan of EVOLTA batteries!
