Panasonic ranked 10th in BEST GLOBAL GREEN BRANDS 2011 RANKING announced in the morning of July 26, 2011 (E.S.T.) by Interbrand, a U.S. brand consultant company.
This is the first green ranking run by Interbrand. Brands were evaluated based on the corporate environmental performance and the public perception of green performance, and top fifty brands were selected.
We received high scores especially in "Governance", "Transportation and Logistics" and "Products and Services" in the Green Performance. In addition, we were highly evaluated in the following points:
- Focusing on growth in its green businesses with the acquisition of SANYO and the ongoing integration of its strong line-up of battery and solar products.
- Being determined to help people around the globe enjoy greener lifestyles, based on Konosuke Matsushita, the founder's vision.
- The "Sustainable Smart Town" plan, showcasing its leadership and comprehensive green technologies ranging from consumer electronics to energy management systems.
- Being conducting environmental activities under the global "Eco Ideas" banner and a global campaign with The World Heritage was recently launched.
Panasonic aims to be the No.1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry in 2018 (fiscal 2019), the 100th anniversary of our founding. We will make the 'environment' central to all of our business activities and take the lead in promoting the 'Green Revolution' which is taking place around the world for the next generation.
