Offering a Comfortable Experience for the Olympians Participating in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the Events They Have Aspired To

LANTERNA, which freely displays a variety of visual images, is installed in the communal areas of the TEAM JAPAN residence building for the Olympic Games.

Tokyo, Japan – The Electric Works Company of Panasonic Corporation today announced that its product LANTERNA, which freely displays a variety of visual images, is installed in the TEAM JAPAN Café in the TEAM JAPAN’s residence building for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 (July 26 to August 11, 2024).

JOC’s Paris 2024 project team proposed the idea of creating the café, and five LANTERNA units were adopted as space creation signage. LANTERNA will create comfortable spaces by displaying cheers for the athletes and beautiful scenery from Paris, leveraging its features to boost TEAM JAPAN’s motivation during the Olympic events by facilitating communication between the athletes.

TEAM JAPAN Deputy Chef de Mission Ayumi Tanimoto commented, “We will create the TEAM JAPAN Café in the TEAM JAPAN’s residence building for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with the hope of offering a comfortable space for the Olympians participating in the events they have dreamed of. I expect that LANTERNA, which can design spaces, will foster a sense of unity for TEAM JAPAN with its healing and dynamic visual images, and serve as a communication tool to enable emotional connections by delivering cheers to the athletes.”

LANTERNA creates novel, unique, and comfortable spaces with easy-to-use visual image expressions. You can select a wide range of image content with a dedicated app (LANTERNA cloud service*1) and easily create original photos and videos using a specialized image creation tool.

*1. Separate from the equipment purchase, a cloud service fee will be charged.
Customers will need to sign a service contract directly with the Solution Engineering Division, Electric Works Company, Panasonic Corporation (monthly charge: 3,000 yen per unit).

The concept of TEAM JAPAN Paris 2024 is “Take the Courage to Step Forward—Rising Together.” In addition to achieving the best performance in the Olympic Games, the team is preparing for the events with the firm intention of inspiring many people to stride ahead with courage through their performances. The café will be created as a space for relaxing before the events and fostering communication between the athletes, enabling them to deliver their peak performance.
